Italian Cabbage Parcels Recipe

This is a quick and easy dish to make, full of the flavors of Italy.


1 head of cabbage, cut into 8 wedges
Olive oil
8 tablespoons of Italian Spread
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

For Italian spread:
1 small tub of margarine at room temperature
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1-2 tablespoon minced garlic

Recipe Instructions

Make the spread.
Put the margarine and olive oil into a mixing bowl and mix together making a soft spread. Add the Italian seasoning and garlic and stir in. Refrigerate and store left-overs in the fridge.

Make the parcels.
Preheat the oven to350F

Place each cabbage wedge on a large enough piece of tin foil. Drizzle olive oil over each wedge and spread with the Italian spread. Sprinkle the wedges with parmesan cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste. Wrap and seal the wedges in the foil.

Place the wedges in a baking pan and bake for 45 minutes. Test for tenderness and if not to your liking return to the oven for a little longer.

You can also bake the wedges on an outdoor grill instead of the oven.
