Chicken with Braised Cabbage Recipe

An easy to make cabbage dish that is delicious and at the same time nutritious

An impressive dish that is not too difficult to make.


500g chicken breasts
60g cubetti di pancetta
Savoy cabbage, stalk removed and leaves torn into pieces
250ml chicken stock ( ½ a stock cube)
325g potatoes; quartered, cooked and cooled.
50g butter
½ tablespoon olive oil
A few sprigs of thyme; leaves removed and finely chopped

Recipe Instructions

Cook the chicken.
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and cook the chicken breasts for 15 – 20 minutes until cooked through.

Cook the cabbage.
Heat the butter in another pan, add the pancetta and thyme and cook for 5 – 6 minutes. Add the cabbage, cover and sweat for 3 – 4 minutes. Add the stock and the potatoes and cook for another 3 – 4 minutes.

Pile the cabbage onto individual plates and top with the sliced chicken breasts.
