Cabbage Braised in Guinness Recipe

Ingredients

250g shredded red cabbage
250g shredded green cabbage
2 medium shallots, diced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
225ml Guinness
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Recipe Instructions

Cook.
Heat the oil over a high heat. Put in the shallots and the ginger and cook until tender. Mix in the red and green cabbage and cook for 2 minutes. Pour in the Guinness and season with salt and pepper.

Simmer.
Cover frying pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for a further 5 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
